Hold on to your hats ladies, I have a stunner for this test. Missha The Style Crystal Nail Polish in HGR01. Do I hear you saying holy sparkly duochrome? Thats exactly what I said too! Here is a shot in direct light with the flash on to show just how sparkly and pretty this is – it looks like this 90% of the time.

I’ve walked past the Missha store in Sydney so many times but because its opposite Lush, I’ve usually already spent too much and so I skim right over it. My coworker was with me this week and persuaded me I should finally have a look and I’m so happy she did. Missha have a few different lines of polish but honestly the bottles are tiny (range from 6-7.5ml) and most of the colours are pretty standard. However this one I couldn’t resist – HGR01. This polish is a somewhere between a shimmer, frost and glitter with a duochrome effect. Honestly the only polish I’ve seen that is similar is Chanel Peridot, except this is in a yellow-green-turquoise spectrum. This polish is amazing, it looks different in every light and I can’t stop looking at it! I even put it on my toenails I love it so much. The formula was a little difficult, if you put the second layer on too soon, it drags and creates bald spots (as I discovered) and if you paint it in direct light then the shimmer is so prominent that you can’t see the polish is super frosty and needs a careful application! Enough talk, I have more photos for you!
Here it is in indirect light

Here it is in the shade and you can see a bit of the frostiness, but you can also see the full spectrum of the polish, isn’t it beautiful?

Now compare these two, this is in direct artificial light, can you believe these are the same polishes? No kidding I haven’t edited these at all, this is one and the same.

Oh and I forgot to say – this polish is rose scented – its quite strong for the first few hours but it was gone by the next morning. Not only is the polish stunning, but so is the bottle – its a heart shape which I don’t think I’ve seen before. It gives the front of the bottle a gorgeous curved surface which flaunts all the duochrome goodness and the lid is surprisingly comfortable to hold. This polish has probably the fattest brush Ive ever seen – we’re talking OPI rivalling! (Sorry I forgot to take a photo of the brush). Despite the size, its a pleasure to work with and makes it easy to at least make the frost lines straight!

Hope you all think this is as fabulous as I do! I paid AU$7.90 for this beauty, so its a bargain just to top it off (OK not a great bargain when you remember its a 7.5ml bottle but not too expensive). Has anyone else tried out the Missha Crystal polishes? Are there any other duochromes out there? Missha has a full range of cosmetics – is there anything else I should invest it? Let me know what you think.

That really is a gorgeous color! I’ve never heard of Missha polishes before, need to check their webpage ;) BTW how do you like Orly Bonder? Because I am still looking for a good basecoat and the drugstore ones over here aren’t really satisfying. Thanks and greetings from Germany :)
Im in love with that colour! Ive only just taken it off and I still wasn’t really ready to take it off. Im having quite good success with Orly Bonder, I have found it doesn’t always prevent staining but it definitely seems to keep the polish on my nail for a while. I think I prefer CND Stickey though.
Seeing this on your nails today was like oooh ahhh so pretty! :D
Ive already made a mental note to pick up another couple of bottles for a future swap (and a back up for me I think!)
so great !
