First of, OMG I’m so happy this is over – there may have been a small happy dance when I finished taking the photos for this post. I expected the challenge to push my limits but instead it just frustrated me day after day when I had to take off nails that I loved or I simply didn’t have an idea that I felt was good enough to blog about. Needless to say this won’t be something I’m repeating! But I have tried lots of techniques I would have taken forever to get to and produced some great nails along the way so it’s not all negative. Anyway on to my honor nails…
There was no contest here, I saw these nails back on day 13 and that was it, they had to be repeated! After skipping leopard print for my animal print manicure, I’ve recreated the gradient leopard print from Rebecca Loves Nails – she truly is the queen of leopard to me!
I changed it up slightly as I didn’t have the exact colours she used – I went with OPI I Eat Mainely Lobster and China Glaze Too Yacht Too Handle for my gradient (which took a mammoth four sponged on coats to get a good gradient from). Then because I wasn’t sure purple would work for the dots, I inversed the gradient for the leopard print and used the same polishes.
The best bit about all this? I can go and wear this for a couple of days now – so you can expect me to go quiet for a couple of days while I recuperate! I’m in the middle of reswatching my entire collection onto new swatch sticks so that will keep me busy.
