Bec from Arcane Lacquer is celebrating her birthday this Saturday and she is letting us all celebrate with her with the release of a duo of new scattered holo polishes. Yay! Be warned this post is picture heavy as there were a few other polishes sent to me and I got carried away because I’m on holiday AND it’s just nice to swatch some polishes for a change!
The first polish is Hearts Ignite from the birthday duo – this polish is a dusty dark purple with a pink shimmer and super fine scattered holo effect. I’ve never seen such a fine holo finish before and I adore it because it means that the polish doesn’t take on that dull grey look when it’s not in the right light. I used 3 coats in all my swatches here unless stated otherwise.
Next up is my personal favourite, Engage Within, also from the birthday duo. This is a dark, almost blackened, teal with a strong teal shimmer and the same fine scattered holo as Hearts Ignite.
As I said I have some swatches of other recent releases from Arcane Lacquer too – starting with Anomaly. This polish truly confuses me, it has a dark purple base but when you put it on it looks chocolate brown because of the orange glitter. There are also a small amount of small purple hexes scattered through this polish which randomly flash. I only needed two coats of this polish but it’s a top coat hungry one, I applied a top coat and it had been completely sucked up by the time I finished taking my photos.
Colour Of Panic is a polish I had on my shopping list and I was just waiting for it to be stocked at Femme Fatale for my next shopping spree! This polish has a dark berry pink base with lots of fine pink glitter and a sprinkle of gold glitter to break it up. I love how this looks, it’s perfect for a pink lover like me! I would probably wear two coats over a base in future just because I had some trouble getting it opaque where I wrapped my tips.
Midnight Swim is another polish I have been eyeing off since it was released…I’m a sucker for a good teal after all! The jelly base on this is an extremely saturated teal and it’s loaded up with turquoise, blue and gold glitter.
Finally On The Brink from the Work trio that was released recently. I was a little hesitant about this one as it’s quite a bright orange which pulls even brighter on my pale skin but it surprised me that it didn’t look harsh at all. This one is purely fine orange and copper glitter in red-orange jelly base – it also surprised me that it only needed two coats to be completely opaque.
The birthday duo are set to be released at 8pm AEST tonight via the Arcane Lacquer Etsy store for AU$9.50 each. The rest of the polishes are available now! For my international readers, Arcane Lacquer is also available at Femme Fatale Cosmetics, Llarowe and Mei Mei’s Signatures.
