I’ve been a little quiet this week…but not without good reason. Wednesday was my earmarked day for post writing this week, until this happened.
My lovely boyfriend of six years, now my fiance, finally proposed! And he did it really well. I thought there was no way on earth he could surprise me seeing as we’re pretty ordinary routine people so anything out of the ordinary would tip me off but he did surprise me.
While I was at work on Wednesday. he painted Marry Me on his nails (well actually he went to a nail salon to have it done after attempting to paint his own nails for a few hours apparently). Then he came home and used my lightbox setup to take a photo of his nails while holding the ring and set it as my computer wallpaper. He even raided my helmers and matched the base colour to the box (which was China Glaze Sweet Hook). So when I went to sit down and paint my nails and write some posts on Wednesday night, his picture was there on my desktop and he was behind me with the ring! I was pretty impressed with his ingenuity and that his hands could look so good for a perpetual nail biter and someone that picks at their cuticles.
Having just swatched Smitten Polish – An Ostentation Of Peacocks a week earlier, I decided it was the perfect polish to wear with my new accessory which is the polish you see in the picture. And conveniently I already have swatch photos ready to post here!
An Ostentation Of Peacocks was a spur of the moment purchase without even seeing swatches and Im so happy I did. A dark teal jelly base that has perfect opacity in just two coats, this polish has a mix of green, blue and turquoise glitters including squares and circles. The formula is excellent but the end result is pretty top coat hungry. When I wore it I needed a coat of Gelous and two coats of Poshe to keep it glassy and smooth.
I also bought Mother Of Dragons at the same time as Im back on a neutral polish rampage at the moment. Again I only needed two coats to get this polish opaque and I love the simple mix of pale blue and gold hexes that add the texture.
