After missing last month’s Polish Days, I really wanted to get back on board this month but my vintage idea was a bit of a fail…more freehand practice needed! I had a lightning bolt idea the other day while watching American Pickers (yep, love that show, can’t believe how much crap people hoard!) – vintage signs! I love all that retro 40s/50s/60s imagery, that’s still vintage right? Some google image searching threw up these pictures which I loves and I was so sure I could replicate
So anyway this is what I ended up with…not quite the same but the effort was there! (Story of my life….at school I won the Effort award for year 4, I was so stoked at the time…looking back it was really a bit of a slap in the face!) Anway I was super happy with my sunbursts which I did with tape, but then I tried to free hand the ice cream which came out ok and completely stuffed it up with my red sign which I couldn’t get to line up across two nails and them smudged dramatically when I applied a top coat! I added the dots last to try and distract from my crap job on the arrow but I don’t think it really helped.
The good news I’m sure other people translated the Vintage theme onto their nails much better than I did, so check out all their links below and bask in their glory!

What a great idea, I love those vintage signs, too! And don’t worry, nobody’s perfect, it still looks cute (and have I told you I love your nails?! ;) )
