Swatched: Shimmer Polish Trisha, Carmen and Tracy
04 Mar 2013

Phew this was almost the post that never existed…took an entire morning battling with WordPress and my plugins to be able to upload photos again.  Moral of this story? Don’t just install stuff randomly, always take a backup first!  Anyway we’re back up and running now and I have some more Shimmer Polishes to show you today.  This time round the polishes all belong to the gold and copper colour family.

Tracy is a mix of small gold glitters which gives it the dominant gold colour, however on closer inspection there is quite a variety other colours in here – I spotted red, blue, green and pale pink as well as gold holo in the mix.  I layered two coats of Tracy over China Glaze Passion.

Carmen is a warm copper mix of glitter with some very subtle fine silver glitter and gold holo thrown in for good measure.  This is one of my favourites as I have an obsession with copper but it usually looks terrible against my skin tone and metallic copper polishes are usually a frosty mess.  I can see me using this an accent polish or in a glitter gradient quite happily.  It is shown here with two coats over China Glaze Magical

Finally I have Trisha which is really eye catching.  More orange than copper, the colours in this glitter mix are really saturated, as well as a base of orangey-copper glitters there are also really clear blue and gold hexes in this polish.  After taking a good long look at the full sized images (did you know you can click on my photos to see a larger version and really check out the detail?) there is also a healthy dose of fine silver and some small magenta glitter in there.  I layered two coats of Trisha over my original copper polish – Sally Hansen Mystery that I bought about 5 years ago now back when I lived in Canada.
