All my good intentions have gone astray this week, including posting anything here. So a quick sorry to all my readers for being MIA. Next order of business is to wish you all a Happy Australia Day. Today is our national holiday, so I will be digging out some green and gold nail polish for my nails today in between all my preparations for my Australia Day party. I’ve already made potato salad this morning and the next order of business is to convert 2.6kgs of mince beef into burger patties! Thankfully I found an $8 patty press yesterday which should make it easier.
You’re not here to hear about my cooking prowess (haha) though – luckily I have a swatch from forever ago sitting in my unposted folder. I’m not a big wearer of gold so I wasn’t too taken with all the gold flake top coats that started appearing before Christmas. However Ninja Polish saw the gap in the market and released He Went To Jarred – a white gold top coat. Much more my style! I swatched two coats over OPI Play Til Midnight, a dark blurple shimmer.
I also have a couple of photos from a Sydney meet up I went to last week to show you all. There were 12 of us all together, including fellow bloggers Lab Muffin, Pretty Purple Polish, Every Little Polish, Polished Peripherals. We had such fun talking polish for a few hours and we also had a big swap while we were there…I think we had about 150 bottles of polish on the table at one point! I would definitely recommend these types of event if you’re a nail polish fanatic. I never get the opportunity to talk polish except on twitter (and here obviously) so it was nice to be with like minded people. I met everyone through a local Facebook group so check out social media to see if there is anything similar in your area!
We did the obligatory group nails shot, mine are down in the bottom left hand corner. And I also snapped a group shot after we finished our polish swatch (I was the photographer so I’m not in there). We went on a polish crawl through all the local dollar shops etc too and I found BYS Dark Teal which has been a lemming of mine forever so I will be posting about that shortly.
