To celebrate the launch of Emily de Molly polishes on Llarowe and Shoppe Eclecticco, I have some new Emily de Molly polishes for you all – Harmony, The Fifth Element and Warrior Princess. EdM polishes are an Australian brand that I know a lot of my international readers have been lemming for a long while, now you can all get your hands on them too! I’m thankful that for once I can buy them directly from the EdM Etsy store instead of battling on Llarowe because I suspect the demand for these polishes is going to be high.
First up is Harmony – a grey creme with large white hexes, medium purple and turquoise hexes, small white squares, small lilac hexes and very fine silver glitter. This was love at first sight, I had to have it! This polish started life as a custom order for an EdM customer and it ended up as part of her line!
I layered two coats of Harmony over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, but I think it probably would have been opaque on it’s own in 2-3 coats. The only problem I had was that I needed to fish a bit for the large white hexes to get them all on my nails.
Next up is Warrior Princess which I had been eyeing up for a while. I was on the edge of ordering it when EdM closed down while Hayley did some mega mixing for the Llarowe shipment. I’m so happy I did so I could grab Harmony and The Fifth Element too when she reopened the store! This polish features magenta, lilac and blue medium hexes and lilac and blue small hexes in a purple jelly base. This polish will build to opacity on it’s own in 3 coats, but I layered it up over Essence Let’s Get Lost.
This is one coat, as you can see the glitter is quite dense but still applies really evenly which is a relief. I hate it when I spend ages splodging glitter on to get even coverage.
These swatches are two coats which gives the polish a really nice depth to it. I’m so happy this polish is part of my collection!
I couldn’t get a colour accurate macro of this polish, the shadow from the bottle on it kept making it appear light blue instead of turquoise. So last up is The Fifth Element which has large and medium orange-red hexes and blue holo medium hexes and fine squares in a turquoise jelly base.
I didn’t have a matching base colour for this polish, so I grabbed American Apparel. However two coats of The Fifth Element covered it right up. The large orange hexes in this polish were quite difficult to get hold of and I had to fish them out to get them on my nails.
So there you have it. All three polishes are gorgeous and only needed one coat of top coat to smooth them out. If you don’t have any Emily de Molly polishes, I strongly recommend checking them out now they’re available internationally. Her colour mixes are fabulous and to me she is queen of cremes with larger glitters. As you may have noticed, I’m not crazy about polishes that are loaded with smaller glitters so I think these polishes are the bomb! You can see some more of my Emily de Molly swatches here.
