Swatched: Orly Angel Eyes

Non Indie Glitter Alert!  After all the indie glitters I’ve been wearing recently, this was a breath of fresh air.  Orly Angel Eyes is part of the upcoming Naughty or Nice 2012 Holiday collection however it is already available on Transdesign and other bloggers have reported seeing it in nail supplies stores in the US.  Angel Eyes is a fine blue glitter in a clear base with small iridescent hexes mixed in.  I layered it over OPI Unfor-greta-bly Blue which gave it a bit of extra depth and made the perfect partner.

First up a quick swatch of OPI Unfor-greta-bly Blue.  I’m really happy I picked up this polish on a whim to bump up my Transdesign order to 9 bottles, it’s really pretty and has a slight teal edge to it that doesn’t show here.  The down side is I found the formula a bit thin and needed three coats to cover some bald patches. I’ve had this problem with all the shimmer polishes from the OPI 2012 Germany collection that I bought.

With Angel Eyes over the top, this polish takes on a fantastic glowing quality which is what I loved so much.  In these photos, I’ve used one generous coat of Angel Eyes with a bit of the larger glitter dabbed on to even out the distribution.  The fine glitter reminds me of China Glaze Ruby Pumps but in blue to give you an idea of how glowy this is!

I bought this polish without seeing any swatches which made me a bit nervous but I’m really pleased I did.  The larger hexes weren’t visible in the bottle shot so it took me by surprise when the polish arrived but they definitely add to the polish and make it really unique.  Anyone else tried this one yet?

A quick apology for my absence this week too.  As I mentioned last weekend I started french classes two nights a week this week.  I usually blog on my nights as a WOW widow while my boyfriend is raiding, but now I have classes two nights a week as well we don’t get much time together during the week so blogging took a back foot.  I will see how it all goes but most likely I will cut down my posting frequency while I’m studying, I hope you all understand.
