Batman Nails
NOTD: Batman Nails!

Woooo! I just got back from watching The Dark Knight Rises and I loved it.  I won’t say anything for those who haven’t watched it but I did enjoy the first peek of Henry Cavill in Man Of Steel too.  I’m happy for him to fill the Batman void!  I did a quick manicure in honour of the end of this Batman era and I’m pretty stoked with it.

I started out with three coats of OPI Skull and Glossbones (still completely in love with this polish), then I tried out the Saran Wrap/Clingfilm effect that has just started doing the rounds – I used Leanne’s tutorial at Do Not Refreeze.  I used Ulta3 Wild Berry for my second colour to create a mottled effect (I was going for stormy clouds but Wild Berry might have been a bit too dark).  Finally I freehanded the batman logo onto my ring nail with Wet N Wild Black Creme.  It wasn’t quite symmetrical, but I was pretty happy with it for someone who is useless at freehanding!

  1. This looks so awesome. Like a swarm of bats with Batman among them.
I’m sooo looking forward to seeing the new Batman movie.

  2. I have never heard of the saran wrap effect, but I’m going to go learn about this right now, lol! That is very cool, & I wish I had enough talent to freehand the Batman logo right onto my nail! <3 this!

    • I’ve only recently started seeing it on blogs, it’s so easy to do. I only had half an hour to do these (not including the base colour I had done the night before) and I didn’t stuff up one nail!

  3. This is awesome! I found this because I’m gonna do some Batman nail art for when I go see the movie tomorrow & I loveeee this!
And even more awesome, you’re Australian like me! :D So cool!

  4. Nanananananana – Batman! Lol, can’t help but thinking of this 70′s series intro whenever I hear Batman. Need to watch the movie soon. Great manicure! This cling film technique sounds easy, will give it a try soon :)
