NOTD: Glitter Tips with Lush Lacquer Neon Blast
27 Jun 2012

My Lush Lacquer minis arrived yesterday and I’m in love!  These were the only polishes I ordered online while I was on holiday and I’m so glad I did, this is my kind of glitter!  I ordered seven in total but Neon Blast was definitely the one I was attracted to most.  Given that it is the middle of the work week, I went with some glitter tips so it wasn’t too OTT because I couldn’t wait until the weekend to try it!  I love that Lush Lacquer offer mini combos where you choose the polishes, it means I could try everything I wanted.

I layered this polish over OPI INK. which is a glorious blurple glass fleck polish with a slight duochrome edge to it.  It’s been a while since I did glitter tips and I might have been a bit heavy handed with the polish but hey, who can have too much glitter?  I have quite a few photos as I struggled to capture this polish now winter has closed in and I have to make do with artificial light:

First up, a bathroom shot – you can see the lilac squares are bit curly but it’s not as bad as it looks, when I run my finger over it, it hardly feels raised.

The obligatory blurry shot to show the sparkle.  Surprisingly this glitter isn’t as sparkly as most, I think maybe it’s because the colours are so saturated, it doesn’t reflect in the same way silver, gold and holo gliter does.

I tried an indirect light in the living room next which is a bit better, look at how pretty INK. is – everyone needs this polish in my opinion!  Mine has a dud brush and I still love it to pieces.

And wooo a nice macro to see all the different glitters – the large pink hexes curl a little bit too but nothing major that a couple of coats of top coat won’t control!

I paid US$33.25 + $8.50 shipping for 7 minis of my choice from Lush Lacquer.  I can’t wait to try out more of my purchases now.  They all look so much fun.  They offer mini combos from 2 up to 8 bottles so there is an option for everyone too!

**EDIT** – I thought I should add to this as I lost two out of the three large pink hexes on my nails in less tan 24 hours despite having a top coat on them so I would recommend a thick top coat or doubling up on your top coat to keep the glitter in place.  I was using Poshe top coat.
