Floam (1)
Swatched: Floam
30 May 2012

Happy Floam Day everyone!  By the time you read this, I will be in the land of the Mountie, aka Canada.  So psyched to finally be going back – I can’t wait to split my time between shopping and visiting national parks, especially my old stomping ground, Gatineau Park.

I was overwhelmed by this polish when I put it on – no amount of looking at swatches will ever do this polish justice – the effect it creates when you look at it from afar on your nails is quite simply amazing.  I originally planned to do some nail art with Floam but it didn’t want to co-operate – I used two coats of China Glaze Custom Kicks as underwear, then two coats of Floam on top.  The base that Floam is suspended in is exceptionally thick and doesn’t dry easily, even with a QD top coat.  I tried stamping and it was a disaster as the polish underneath all wrinkled.  Sad but true :(  So I just have a swatch for you today.

Using Custom Kicks underneath toned down the brightness slightly – I reckon that 3 coats of Floam alone would have been virtually opaque too but I didn’t fancy the challenge of removing pure glitter from my nails (you can see my cuticles are particularly wrinkly again at the moment – I’ve just switched to using rose hip oil on my cuticles which I’m loving btw).

Here are all the other lovely ladies participating in Floam Day, I can’t wait to see how they all use Floam!
