A England Saint George and Color Club Wild At Heart (2)

I laid my hands on A England Saint George this week and I was so excited to get it that I decided I had to wear it before I wore Floam which was in the same package!  I’ve actually worn it twice already – I’ve used it for stamping but the manicure chipped in a couple of hours boo.  So the next night I settled on the latest trend – a gradient – using Saint George and Color Club Wild At Heart.  Scattered holo heaven!  I have done a gradient manicure before back late last year, but that was before the revolution when it took forever to do a well blended gradient, one colour at a time.

I don’t use the most common method of putting both polishes on a piece of plastic and pre mixing them.  I use a method I found on Pinterest from The Beauty Department where you soak a makeup sponge in water, then paint stripes of nail polish directly onto the sponge.  I sponge it over prepainted nails to ensure it’s opaque and sponge repeatedly while moving up and down slightly to create a smooth blend.

I love how this looks a bit like a duochrome polish at the same time – I kept flexing my nails expecting to see a colour shift!  What do you think?  Have you jumped on the gradient bandwagon yet?  I love how easy it is now to do a gradient manicure and they make a fab undercoat for stamping too…I’m thinking of stamping over this one, I just can’t decide whether to use black, dark grey or silver.

  4. Oh wow, that looks gorgeous! Gradient nails are my favorite nail art trend at the moment and those two polishes go so well together, I love it!

  5. This is STUNNING!!! ♥

  6. Wow, this is mind-blowing! O-O !!!!!!!!!

  7. Gorgeous combo and perfectly done.

  8. I love it!! I already have St. George. Now I have to get Wild at Heart. Did you use St. George as the base?

    • It was a while ago now but I think I started with Wild At Heart as my base. I will usually start with the lightest colour as darker colours have better opacity for sponging over the top I find.

  9. Gorgeous! I love that gradient!
