Tape Manicure
NOTD: Another Tape Manicure

So as promised, a little bit of nail art.  Originally I planned to do these for some photos I had to have taken at work but they sprung the photos on me without any notice (so I hadn’t even washed my hair that day, gross!).  Instead I ended up doing these for Friday for a celebratory work lunch I had instead.  I started with two layers of Ulta3 Black Satin across my whole nail, then taped off the bottom half and added a silver layer using Rimmel Your Majesty, then finally taped off a very fine line of silver and added a layer of Essence Let’s Get Lost and a layer of Inglot 203 flakies.

Honestly, I was devestated as this took a while and then as you can see, I got horrendous shrinkage on my tips after putting a top coat of Poshe over the Inglot Flakies.  Until then everything looked flawless.  To the untrained eye it looked fine but the shrinkage was upto a couple of millimeters on some nails, especially my thumbs.  I could only bear to look at it from a distance.

On a more positive note I did love the combination, it would be good for an evening out manicure.  On an even better note, I got home that day to find my bottle of Lynnderella Connect The Dots had arrived (I’m so relieved it was the only one I wanted, those polishes are just too much trouble.)  So I immediately slapped it over China Glaze Spontaneous on my toes and I’m going to play with it later over some other colours as my reward for giving the apartment a crazy cleaning today (as I write I have items bleaching in the bathtub, cat beds in the washing machine, I’ve put away 3 weeks of laundry and my next challenge is to tidy my linen/cleaning closet as it’s out of control).

Yet more good news is that I’ve been absent all week because I’ve been reading the Hunger Games trilogy ready for the movie.  I’ve finished them all now with mixed feelings…I’m most likely going to reread them all but I wasn’t that impressed with Catching Fire or Mockingjay.  So I will be back to normal posting after my mini absence!
