Swatched: Color Club Hot Like Lava and Lumin-icecent
12 Dec 2011

My untrieds drawer is getting fuller and fuller and I blame the lousy Sydney weather – I haven’t seen enough sun to have a decent swatching session in weeks now and it still shows no sign of abating.  These swatches are from my backup stash and I’m even having to stretch that out now :S So I have Color Club’s Hot Like Lava and Lumin-icecent for you today from the Foiled collection.  I bought both of these purely for the intention of that they would be good for stamping but I’m yet to test either.

Lumin-icecent is an icy blue leaning silver foil – on it’s own, this polish looks more silver than anything but if you put it next to a true silver you can see this colour is much cooler.  The ring and pinky nails have a coat of top coat which smooths out the polish and increases the shine.

In the shade, it looks like a simple silver foil and the top coat doesn’t have any visible impact.

Hot Like Lava is a hot pink to die for – again the ring and pinky nails have top coats on them which I think gives the polish a much more “finished” look and accentuates the pink, making the colour more vivid against the silver foil flakes.

In the sun again the top coat helps the polish to a little less streaky and more finished however this polish wasn’t as sparkly as I expected, with the polish absorbing more light than it reflects back.
