As soon as I saw Snow Globe in all its opalescent glittery glory I knew it had to go over Turquoise and Caicos. Ironically I first spotted this back in August before the re-release at my local nail supplies store where they had just started stocking a wide range of China Glaze glitters but it took me until the rerelease to finally buy it.
I’m not a fan of this polish over darker colours – it brings out a very strong orange-gold colour in a lot of the glitter which ruins the opalescent effect for me, but over lighter colours it’s much more toned down and doesn’t overpower the other more delicate colours, happy days!
What you see here is four coats of Essie Turquoise and Caicos (this polish never plays nice for me) with a Seche Vite top coat. On the accent nail its 4 coats of T&C, 1 coat of SV, 2 coats of Snow Globe, 1 coat of SV, chunkalicious! I went on to put another coat of SV over the accent nails after these photos as they were still a bit rough. Anyway on with the photos:
I’ve also got a couple of close ups for you. The sunlight one is fascinating – you can see T&C has rippled underneath where the coat of Seche Vite I put on made it shrink slightly before I continued to layer (click on the photos to make them bigger).
Today was due to be a swatching day but I don’t think it’s going to happen now – I love this too much, I’m not taking it off! What do you think of Snow Globe – better over a dark or light polish? Maybe it’s just me because it’s hot and sunny here so dark polish + in your face glitter seems a bit much. Happy Monday everyone.

Love the combination of Essie T&C and Snowglobe – so pretty!
Over on You’veGotNail, Jacie layered Snow Globe over Holly-Day and Poinsetta and both looked amazing!
Thanks. It feels very spring appropriate. I stared at it all the way to the post office today (don’t worry, I was walking not driving!)
Jen, you are not helping my Snow Globe lemming! That’s such a pretty combo.
Sounds like it should go on a Christmas lemming list! I put Sigma brushes, a beauty blender and Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe on mine!
